Andrew W.K. will be taking a shot at the record books this week. The party rocker hopes to set the mark for the longest drum session held in a retail store by hitting the skins for 24-hours straight.
The stunt is scheduled to start this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, coinciding with the O Music Award's 24-hour live stream special in New York's Times Square.
W.K. tells "The Hollywood Reporter" some of the world's best drummers will be playing alongside him, but he isn't naming any names yet. So far the only known guest is previously announced O Music Awards participant Questlove.
In the meantime, W.K. says he's practicing for the drumathon by air drumming with weights rather than standard sticks. He says he wants to be "over-prepared," so he's trying to make it seem harder than it will actually be.
